So great to be back in Canmore Alberta...a bit of snow on the mountains this afternoon!
Stanley Glacier...one of our favorite hikes...we couldn't do this Summer because of the wildfires and smoke, was spectacular today☀️☀️

Lake O'Hara....one of the most beautiful places on the planet...a spectacular day of hiking...only 40 day hikers are permitted each day! It's like getting a ticket to a rock concert!
Last hike...back to reality tomorrow! Rock Bound Lake ( behind Castle Mountain) was glorious today! Lots of Larches and beautiful weather ☀️☀️

WOW...We did it... the Windtower Mountain Challenge...1000m (3280ft) elevation in 10k (6 miles)...it was tough, snow for the last third of the hike, and very windy and cold, but spectacular! Not bad for old people!
A stunning day...we hiked through the clouds and then a spectacular view at Mt Yamnuska!

No bear restrictions today...so we got to hike up Grassi Lakes! The trees looked like something from a Christmas village ☃️🎄

We have never seen Burstall Pass look this beautiful...plenty of snow and even a family of ptarmigans on the trail!

A gray and cloudy day but still beautiful at Chester Lake! The larch trees are starting to turn yellow.
Johnston Canyon is always a beautiful hike with its waterfalls....then on to Tunnel Mt. with great views of the town of Banff!

Hard to believe we started the day with rain and snow in Canmore...so we went up to Lake Louise and found the larches are turning yellow already!
We had snow❄️❄️❄️all day hiking at Lake O'Hara...it still was beautiful!
Larches, larches and more larches...A larch tree is a pine that's needles turn yellow and fall off and are found only at high elevations!
Another spectacular day in paradise...Larch Valley above Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks☀️☀️
